I haven’t wrote lately about my internet problems, but I still experience them. I guess now it is a problem with my pc’s network card. I have to go and check it, but since I really depend on my computer and work with it everyday I didn’t do it so far. What happens is that on usual work it disconnects from the internet about once in hour. When trying to connect to the Transact platform, I always have to try and start it a few times till it finally “catches”, like some bad starter.

Today I tried to trade. I was looking at the charts, and placed a order which I was not yet sure about. I was debating with myself if I should cancel it, and then my son somehow turned the electricity in our home out. I think he was turning on the light in the bathroom and the bulb was dying out or something like that, I have yet to investigate exactly what happened. Anyway the electricity was out, and of course the modem was off so there was no internet. It took a few minutes till I finally was able to turn the electricity back on.

Of course, during those critical minutes the order caught, without the bracket orders being sent. When I had the electricity back I again tried to get the Transact connected, and it took quite a few trials till I got it. Actually I didn’t get a good connection, but in one of the starts I had a long enough connection to get out of the position before the connection with the Transact was cut off.

Again I lost $50 on once contract. Damn! Damn!

I really should not trade before my internet problems are solved. I will call my technician tomorrow morning.

Back to Live Trading

Posted by Deb | Day Trading Journey | Monday 4 October 2010 6:51 pm

Today was the big day, I went back to live trading!

Trading started on a bad note :( . I lost today $50. I was to eager to start, and I entered a position in the “jumping on the bandwagon” method, i.e. I joined the market when going down, but not on a resistance line. Because of my limited acount, I put a stop-loss which was too close for the market, and I lost.

At least, I am proud of myself of not moving the stop-loss in the middle, so the loss was small.

I am not sure I will have the time to trade tomorrow, as I have to go out of the city. If I do, I hope I will start making some profit!

An Interesting Trading Course

Posted by Deb | Futures Trading Tips | Sunday 3 October 2010 12:30 am

I was looking for reading material about day trading, and stumbled on a very nice course which I want to recommend here. It is called “The Rockwell Home Study Course” (or in its full name “Rockwell Trading Futures Day Trading e-mini’s Home Study Course”. If you follow this link you can either buy the full course, which seems very thorough, or download for free the accompanying pdf. I am currently reading this pdf. It is a very long file (273 pages), and seems very good. If you are serious about day trading, I really recommend you get at least this pdf. Click here!

Another Short Day

Posted by Deb | Day Trading Journey | Friday 1 October 2010 4:34 pm

Between all the holidays of the Jewish begining of year I don’t have enough time for anything, let alone trading! Thank G-d it is almost over.

Today is the last day of vacation for my kids, not counting tomorrow which is just another “regular” weekend vacation. We went to a movie to mark that. Now I have to prepare for the Shabbat. I had a very short time for trading. I had a very quick position on 2 contracts. I hurried to get out, and good I exited when I did. I was in such a hurry I did not realize it was the time of the market opening, and the market had rushed up. Anyway, I got a small profit of $37.5. Not much, but at least it was a profit.
